My dear Bray
Your Mr. Bracebridge seems to me a shuffler as well as a fool. I don't believe a word the man says; and I think a miserable vanity is at the bottom of his efforts. I have written him a stinger; and brought him to four distinct questions.
Marian begs me to say that in friendship to her she wishes you would remove her portrait from the dining room and place it in your bedroom.
She is horribly worried, and will leave England altogether I think if fools obtrude themselves more upon her.
