My dear Pigott
Your letter has been forwarded here. By not getting an answer you will I hope have concluded that we were away. But we shall leave this on Friday morning and although it is uncertain whether we shall loiter on the way or proceed home at once, it is certain we shall be home next week. Now on Saturday the 24th you will still be in town, won't you? If so, suppose you &unknown;and George&unknown; come and meet Fred Chapman (of Chapman and Hall) whom I intend asking down one day -- and let that be the day?
Is Wilkie Collins in town? If he is, ask him whether he will accompany you -- both George Eliot and myself will be very glad to see him once more. 472
Let me know in time to ask Fred Chapman. If you write after Thursday morning address to Wandsworth. In haste
