GHL to Edward F. S. Pigott, Witley, [25 September 1877]
MS: Mr. Gordon N. Ray.
The Heights, Witley | Godalming.
My dear Pigott
So many overhanging engagements have prevented our fixing on a day when we should be free but next Saturday the 29th we shall certainly be free and very glad if you are so likewise, and can run down here. There is a train from Waterloo at 11.30 which arrives here at 12.43 -- capital time for lunch, and the return train at 8.25 allows due time for dinner as we are only 5 minutes from the station. May we expect you? 377
Yours ever
G. H. Lewes.
