My dear Blackwood
How pleasant that ring in your letter! and how useful it would have been while she was in her agonies of depression and disbelief! However now all is over except the comparatively easy pages of winding up, and I hope we shall send the final sheet on Thursday so as to be able to start for Homburg on Saturday.
Surely Dorothea is the very cream of lovely womanhood? She is more like her creator than any one else and more so than any other of her creations. 593 Only those who know her (Dodo -- or her creator) under all aspects can have any idea of her.
I think the present division most effective and it matters little about the length of the part.
What a first rate story that is about "leaving the character in friendly hands."
You will hear from us when we are settled. Our kindest regards to Mrs. Blackwood and the young travellers.
