My dear Blackwood
The parcel which goes by this post would have been sent a week ago but I have been in bed. A fluctuating sickness with much malaise and headache as a sort of general state has closed with a nasty attack; but the storm I hope has now passed by. 149
Of the parcel itself I say nothing except that it is the work of the last few months and is not a story. 150 Your impression on reading it will therefore have no bias. How it affects you we shall be glad to hear.
There is more to come, but we should be glad to know how many pages you estimate the present instalment would make, and we wish the volume to be out before the opening of Parliament. A 10/6 handsome volume. Either I or Mrs. Lewes will write more fully after hearing from you. She is pretty-well, but has been horribly anxious about me.
