Tuesday.
My dear Blackwood
The proofs of volume 3 having come Mrs. Lewes is getting fidgetty lest the printers should have to wait for copy if she sent you the M. S. So I have dispatched a batch to Simpson -- you will get the proof almost immediately and no time lost.
I hope to see you tomorrow. She is in feeble health and very depressed spirits -- but the [one word] 466 you know comes from the [one word] disease (it doesn't, but it is [one word] to do so).
Ever yours
[G. H. Lewes.]
