My dear Blackwood
I am delighted with Petherick, and if you don't mind an ignoramus reviewing it will do my best to make an entertaining paper. I would rather not see the author however -- unless I should meet him casually. His book gives ample details.
By this post more of Silas Marner is dispatched. I am in love with it.
Ever yours
G.H.L.
By the way I should like to put in a claim for the book Murray advertizes '91Explorations in Africa by Chaillu.'92 It promises news about my friends the chimpanzees and the much maligned gorilla, who never having had the benefit of a few "tracts" is slighted and traduced.
