My dear Blackwood
I'm glad you like the preface. The book goes by this post. I suppose it will not be necessary for me to see the proofs, so that if you wish to do so you may print while I'm away. Or if you think I had better see proofs they can be sent to Munich. We start on Monday the 5th.
The idea of the Tales from Maga 383 struck me as a most promising one, and the sight of the first number assures me that it will be a great success; such capital fiction in so readable a shape! The cover has a railway hideousness which will be attractive, no doubt. The print is delightful.
The stories are capital, and the price is just the price to tempt railway travellers.
I shall send you a couple of articles before I start and that will make my mind easy for some time.
Ever faithfully yours
G. H. Lewes.
