My dear Blackwood
With the proofs I send rough proofs of some illustrations: they will of course look much better when they are quite ready, but these are sent to give an idea of their character. Seven of these -- two with dark grounds -- and five others -- will make a very pretty book.
The cost of the whole will I believe be as nearly as possible 30£, a trifle more or less; but I have not heard from Monti since his original estimate was given, and that was necessarily uncertain.
Ever faithfully yours
G. H. Lewes.
