My dear Blackwood
Your letter -- checque -- and Johnston arrived this morning. I am so much pleased with the liberality of your proposals and the confidence you express that I can only hope both will meet with the right return.
I have never contemplated any but the slenderest money result from [Sea-Side Studies,] but as to a poor man every addition to the banker's account is important, I shall be quite pleased to get 75£ for the edition -- and not less so to hear you have got as much for your trouble and risk.
Johnston is a task which I shall set about con amore. When I see my way clear I will write to submit my plans. No time shall be lost.
It will give me great pleasure to make the acquaintance of your brother, and I hope his stay will be long enough to allow of his giving us a day among the lingering autumnal tints of Richmond Park.
