Holly Lodge | Monday.
My dear Blackwood
The letter was from Dr. Ogilvie 457 -- a Bombay admirer -- is he a contributor?
I shall send Tom Jones in two or three days. It will be a "stunner" I think.
Did I tell you the Queen had commanded two pictures to be painted from Adam Bede? One is Hetty making the butter -- the other I did not hear. 458 The Princess Alice has given the design of the former.
The object of this scrawl is to ask you to tell Mr. Simpson he only sent me one proof of the last Physiology batch -- and I want a second to send to a critic.
Ever yours faithfully
G. H. Lewes.
