My dear Blackwood
Proof goes by this post. If it is any convenience to you by all means do not hesitate to postpone the appearance of Master Jones -- he will keep; and as I shant be able to do any thing for the next number it won't interfere with me.
Mrs. Lewes begs me to tell you that according to your calculations the 1st volume of the Mill will be 10 pages more than the 2d volume of Adam Bede; in which case the 2d volume of the Mill will be about 10 or 15 more than the first volume of Adam; the third volume will probably be of the same length. She thinks the page of Adam would bear an extra line or two, but she hopes the leading will not be less, as it gives a pleasant aspect to the page.
I am busy finishing the Physiology in order to fall in with Simpson's views.
Ever yours faithfully
G. H. Lewes.
You will see I have modified the article according to your suggestions.
