My dear Rector
I know the state you describe but too well. Don't let it go on. It is anaemia -- perhaps caused by or at any rate complicated by inaction of the liver. The irritability is a certain index of anaemia -- the depression probably hepatic. But get Acland 375 or Rolleston 376 to have an examination. Probably a tonic and rest will be all necessary if taken in time. But cerebral anaemia is not to be prolonged without evil!
How grieved we are both for her sake and yours to hear of Mrs. Pattison!
