Dear Sir
Your colleague in the editorship of the [Gegenwart] has written a friendly letter to me requesting my permission for the publication in your journal of certain chapters from my book on Actors. 308 I cannot decipher his signature, and must therefore send my reply through you lest my letter should reach the wrong person.
If there is anything in my trifling little book which you think would interest your public I should have only pleasure in granting the permission asked; and as to honorarium I beg that may be waived altogether. Believe me,
