Middlemarch registered goes by this post. Please acknowledge receipt.
I think paragraph in Athenaeum should simply say "A new story of English Provincial Life by George Eliot will be published by Messrs. Blackwood in December."
Before setting up in type it will be well to have pages of the closely printed, less closely printed, and still less closely printed m.s. set up in order to form a calculation of quantity. The part must not look thin for 5/- and we must therefore see how many handsome pages it will make. In desperate haste
