My dear Major,
If you will look at the Athenaeum of Saturday you will see that so far from Newby having given up, he postpones publication to meet the great demand.
The name of the Librarian I did not hear, but Mr. Wills, of "All the Year Round" was the person to whom the Librarian related the story; which I repeated to you not for public notice, but simply to make you aware of the tricks which were practised. These tricks will succeed in the provinces.
