Dear Madam
My papers on Elizabeth Evans (the Dinah of Adam Bede) will appear in all probability in the Gentleman's Magazine. The editor wishes me to ask you if you have any objection to the course I am taking.
He would be sorry for me to reveal anything in his pages that might offend you. If I am working against your wishes will you kindly send me a line? I am Madam
Yours respectfully
Guy Rodgers.
