My Dear Lewes
Our terms to the trade are as I daresay you know 6 months account and 6 months bill or credit or equivalent discount when we keep the accounts at shorter dates.
If agreeable to you I propose to make settlements for Middlemarch correspond to these dates that is settlements every six months and Bill at six or cash taking discount for the time. Probably it might suit both parties that we should pay cash about the middle of the half year.
As there was one part published last half year I enclose a cheque £500. to account of that.
Always yours Truly
(Signed) John Blackwood.
